Be the change you want to see in the world.

With all that’s been going on over here in the Boston area, I’ve seen a wide range of emotions. It’s to be expected, for we all react differently in times like these. I, for one, am still in shock along with a healthy dose of sadness. I’ve also seen a handful of people I know, some being yoga people, express absolute anger. I’m not one to judge how people react, because again, we’re all different, but I wish people could look past the anger and fear. Instead of living in that state of mind and wonder, “How can we live in a world like this?” or slinging out a million curses, why not set an example for others? Be that change. I am so proud of the people who ran towards the explosions and offered to help strangers. It gives me hope in humanity.

While I wish we could resolve conflicts in a peaceful matter or not even have conflicts like this at all, we don’t live in an ideal world. Sadly, we live far away from the day when we all live in peace and happiness. If yoga has taught me something, it’s that nothing is ideal, but we strive for what is good for us in the moment. The brave souls in Boston have shown us just that.

Namaste to all of you <3
